How Do I Know If I Need a Business Coach?

What exactly is business coaching?
Business coaching is a collaborative process where a coach helps you clarify goals, navigate challenges, and grow your business or leadership capacity. It’s less about giving you all the answers, and more about asking the right questions to unlock your best thinking.
How is coaching different from consulting?
Consulting typically focuses on solving specific problems or delivering expert advice. Coaching, on the other hand, helps you develop your own solutions, strengthen decision-making, and grow as a leader. At Blue Jean Business, you might get a bit of both—because sometimes, what you need is a steady sounding board, and other times, you need a plan.
Who is business coaching for?
Coaching isn’t just for executives at big companies. It’s for business owners, startup founders, nonprofit leaders, and anyone navigating complexity, change, or growth. Whether you’re scaling a business, shifting strategy, or feeling stuck, coaching can help you move forward with confidence.
What kinds of topics do clients usually bring to coaching?
Every client is different, but common topics include strategic planning, team dynamics, leadership challenges, time management, decision-making, and work-life balance. Some clients come with a specific challenge; others come with a sense that something needs to shift—even if they’re not sure what yet.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
A good fit matters. Coaching works best when there’s trust, openness, and a shared commitment to growth. If you’re looking for honest feedback, fresh perspective, and a space to think clearly about what’s next, a conversation with Frank is a great place to start.

Don’t just take our word for it…

Frank has been consistent, encouraging, full of wisdom, and a real friend and mentor.
A few years ago, my business partner decided he didn’t want to be business partners anymore and wanted out of the mortgage business. It was a very scary time for me. I remember driving home from the final meeting with my then business partner where he gave me his final answer that he wanted out of the business and I felt devastated. I didn’t have the confidence or belief that I could run a company. I called up a ton of my friends and asked them if I should shut my company down. I ended up getting two invaluable people in my corner during that season and if it wasn’t for them, I would not be where I’m at today. Who would’ve known that one of them would’ve been my youth group leader over 20 years ago when I was 12 years old that I had not seen since—Frank Deno. I have a meeting with Frank every month for the last five years, sometimes multiple times a week. He has helped me through every storm and challenge I have faced.
Don’t do life alone. Make sure you’ve got a coach or mentor who can help you on the journey.
